Vet Nurses Day Friday 11th October 2012

We all know how essential Vet Nurses are to your business and to the veterinary industry in general.

And we all know what an awesome bunch of people they are!

Did you know that it's Vet Nurses Day on Friday 11th October?  This is a fantastic opportunity to show your appreciation to all Vet Nurses.

So.. how do you intend to spoil your Vet Nurses on Friday 10/10/12?

My suggestion is to pay for all of your nurses to be members of the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia (VNCA).  I'm a huge supporter and firmly believe that there are benefits of membership to practice owners, vet nurses & the industry: 10 Reasons Why Every Boss Should Pay for their Nurses to be Members of the VNCA (Vetanswers Blog)

I've also been collecting other ideas since 2012 and I'll be adding a post on Facebook to collect some more to add to the list below, but this is what we have so far....

  • Close the practice for an hour in the quietest time of the day & get massage therapists in for a vet nurse pampering session;

  • Organise a  small baskets of goodies for each nurse;

  • Put a big banner in the waiting room so all clients know that it's Vet Nurse day & they can thank the vet nurses as well;

  • Organise a dinner out with all staff as a thank you;

  • Ask clients to make a gold coin donation on the day to whatever cause is close the the clinic's heart;

  • Have a draw for one vet nurse to go - all accom & rego paid - to the VNCA Conference in 2014

  • Special cake for morning tea

The list is endless - add your ideas in the comments section below so we can help out those who are looking for some great ideas!
