A new collaboration marks a significant elevation in the recognition of veterinary leadership education.
We’re proud to share a major milestone in Lincoln’s journey – and a powerful step forward for the veterinary profession.
Lincoln Institute of Veterinary Business has entered a landmark partnership with Southern Cross University that will see all of Lincoln’s renowned leadership and non-clinical training programs formally recognised with Southern Cross University-issued Short Form Credentials.
This collaboration marks a significant elevation in the recognition of veterinary leadership education – and one that benefits our entire community of students, alumni, and professional stakeholders.
The fact that veterinary team members undertaking leadership training with Lincoln will now be formally recognised with a university-level credential is a testament to more than 15 years of rigorous curriculum development.
We’re proud to partner with Southern Cross University in raising the bar for professional development across the industry. This collaboration sets a new benchmark for industry-academic alignment and reflects a growing recognition of the need for non-clinical competencies in ensuring sustainable, successful veterinary careers.
What’s Changing
Graduates of the following programs will now receive Short Form Credentials jointly issued by Southern Cross University and Lincoln:
- Lead to Succeed – Certificate of Veterinary Practice Management
- Chrysalis – Certificate of Veterinary Team Leadership
- Emerging Leaders – Certificate of Leadership Foundations (Veterinary)
- Leading Edge for Veterinarians – Certificate of Veterinary Non-Clinical Studies
- Veterinary Leadership Mastery – Certificate of Veterinary Practice Management (Advanced)
Why It Matters
This collaboration:
- Affirms the quality, rigour and real-world relevance of Lincoln’s curriculum.
- Ensures that our programs meet university-level academic standards, as reviewed by Southern Cross University.
- Adds further credibility and career value to your learning achievements.
- Strengthens the connection between industry and academia, setting a new benchmark for veterinary education.
“Southern Cross University must conform to rigorous quality assurance standards set by the Federal Government – and we’re applying that same framework to Lincoln’s programs,” said Professor Jon Hill, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Southern Cross University.
“These credentials bring real value to both graduates and employers. They ensure participants can be confident in the quality, relevance, and credibility of their training. They also provide an extra level of assurance for employers that the professional development their team invests in meets high-quality, independent academic standards.”
Further Integration in Formal Tertiary Education
Standing as further testament to Southern Cross University’s assessment and endorsement of Lincoln’s educational program quality is their concurrent decision to incorporate selected curriculum into their formal degrees for veterinary professionals.
Lincoln’s Leading Edge for Veterinarians program has been formally embedded in Southern Cross University’s Bachelor of Veterinary Technology degree, and further integration is planned in Southern Cross University’s upcoming Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (Honours) degree, launching in March 2026.
“Leadership, communication, and resilience are as critical to veterinary success as clinical skill. By embedding Lincoln’s proven leadership content into our undergraduate offerings and recognising their external programs, we’re preparing students for the full complexity of the veterinary profession,” said Professor Hill.
“Intrinsically, graduates feel better prepared for the realities of client communication, team dynamics, and professional resilience. Ultimately, this collaboration supports the profession in becoming more sustainable, more effective, and more fulfilling.”
This partnership strengthens our shared vision: a future where veterinary professionals are not only clinically capable but confident communicators and capable leaders.
