A diffuse, unstructured interstitial pulmonary pattern was the most common radiographic finding in this retrospective evaluation of dogs with DCM and left sided congestive heart failure, and it was often predominantly ventrally distributed. (This might be contrasted with the hilar and caudodorsaldistribution of an unstructured interstitial to alveolar pattern in dogs with mitral valve disease).
